Pages for the local fostering searches where an independent fostering agency sits above you.
Each page we suggest matches a local fostering search where an independent fostering agency (IFA) sat above you in Google’s top 10 web results in our latest monthly check. Each month Content Advisor checks a set of fostering searches for your area on Google, and picks out the ones where an IFA appears above your service. It suggests new pages and improvements to the pages you already have, and drafts the ones you approve. You publish them on your own website. Each page you publish is written for one of those searches and carries your own service’s facts.
What does it look for?
We start from searches such as how to foster and foster carer pay, paired with the places in your area. We group searches that share the same main words and place, and read Google’s top 20 results for each group.
A group only counts where an IFA appears in Google’s top 10. We rank the groups by how many searches a month they get and by how high the IFA appears. A search with words such as become or apply in it counts for more.
What do you get each month?
Suggestions for up to 3 new pages and up to 5 improvements to pages you already have. Where Google reports a figure, each suggestion shows about how many searches a month it covers.
You approve it, leave it for now, or tell us it isn’t for you and why, so we stop suggesting it.
Where one of your pages already ranks for a search, we suggest improving a page you have rather than adding a second one that competes with it. You choose the one website we suggest pages for.
What’s in a draft?
A draft sets out the page’s address and title, with a short description written for search results. Then come its headings and copy, and its questions and answers. It also lists the links to add to and from your other pages. It also carries structured data, the extra information in a page’s code that tells search engines and AI assistants what the page is about.
An AI model writes each draft from the text of your own pages. Where a page needs a local fact, such as your allowance or a phone number, the draft leaves a marked gap for you to fill, unless the fact is already on the pages we drafted from.
No draft reaches you until it passes 5 checks. It mustn’t compete with another of your pages, and it mustn’t repeat the wording of a draft for another area. We check every sentence that holds a number, a sum of money, a date, a phone number, an address, Ofsted or the name of an organisation. If we can’t trace it to the pages we drafted from, it must be a marked gap or be flagged for you to check. Its code must be valid, and its words must pass our writing rules.
Who publishes the page?
You do. FosterScope never writes to your website.
You copy the draft into your own website editor, then add your own photos and fill in every marked gap before it goes live.
How do you know a page went live?
Your full report follows each page through 5 stages: approved, drafted, live, found on Google, and in Google’s top 20 for one of its searches. It also tells you when a live page still needs finishing, for example a local fact that’s still missing or a link that isn’t there.
If we can’t reach your page in a month, the report says we couldn’t check it, never that the page isn’t live. The report doesn’t show which page an AI assistant used.
Does a page we draft get special treatment when we measure you?
No. We measure every local authority by the same method, with no exceptions for clients. A page we draft is measured exactly like every other page on your website.
Which kind of help includes it?
Content Advisor comes with Advice and a market watch and with Hands-on help. With Hands-on help we also edit the drafts with you and help you publish them.
